Job Title: Summer Staff

Job Summary

Sparta summer staff has two primary roles: a part time kitchen team member helping to prepare and serve food to our guests and a part of the cleaning team to ensure guests experience a clean environment.

Job Description

Kitchen Team

• Assist in meal preparations

• Serve meals to guests

• Wash dishes

• Put away and store food

Cleaning Team

• Clean bathrooms in main buildings

• Clean dining hall (tables, floors, chairs, windows)

• Clean pavilion areas and furniture

Turn-around days (after a group leaves)

• Clean cabins

• Empty trash, sweep and mop floors, clean cabin bathrooms

• Sweep and mop chapel

• Clean and vacuum Sparta Hall

• Clean apartments as needed

Job Requirements

• Have a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ

• Excellent time management skills

• Friendly and enjoy serving others

• Ability to work independently and on a team

• Takes initiative on completing tasks

• Coachable with a desire to grow and learn new skills including food preparations and food safety

• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

• Physical stamina to work while standing for duration of shift and ability to lift kitchen equipment and boxes of food

• Must have a reliable source of transportation

• Promote and uphold Camp Sparta core values in personal and professional life

  Hours

• 20-35 hours per week

• Must be available to work on weekends, including Friday and/or Saturday evenings

• Shifts will vary based on Camp Sparta bookings

• Starting rate is $15/hour
